Liturgical Colors

by Nancy Zabel, Sacriston

Colors play a significant role in worship, helping to set the tone of a service and create an atmosphere conducive to prayer and reflection. Green is the liturgical color for Ordinary Time, which is the time between Easter and Christmas, and between Christmas and Lent. Green symbolizes hope, life, growth, and anticipation of the resurrection of Christ. It also symbolizes the graces that draw people into the life of God.
