Meals for Many
SBC provides lunch meals on the third Tuesday of the month for 30 or more for those in the emergency shelter in the Unity Commons. Folks are needed to help prep, assemble, cook, bake or transport these lunches. Cooking will take place at SBC kitchen but baked items could be done at your home and delivered to SBC in time for delivery. The lead on this ministry is Spence Daniels, who can be contacted at olyguyz@comcast.net or 360-943-7537.
Food Bank
St. Benedict's encourages participation in donations to the Thurston County Food Bank. Our little red wagon, near the doorway into the nave, is the collection point. We focus on the third Sunday of the month for clearing donations; however, we accept them any time it is convenient for you. The scale of donations include: non-perishable food items, paper grocery bags, reusable plastic bags, egg cartons, and toiletries. Contact Mike Akin, mstarinakin@gmail.com.
Tellers
Can you count? We seek 1-3 new tellers to help count, record and deposit the weekly incoming funds. This takes about 1-2 hours about 13-16 times a year. Tellers work in teams of two. Training will be provided. Contact Marcha Liska at mliska@comcast.net with interest or questions.
